Thanks Yan Huina for letting us know that "当阳" is also a place name. Very intriguing. Of course, we don't know where this plaque came from... My friend liked the shape of the characters and bought it a store. It would be very interesting to know its history, its journey from China to the US would be most intriguing :)

从字面意思有人说是歌颂当时的太平景象，但是都不好说，古诗词的真正含义都得以其背景才能了解其真正含义，不知道这是哪里的牌匾，不好说，也有隐喻君主之恩泽，哈哈，古文化太麻烦

我也很好奇到底写的是什么，右边第一个字应该是"淽"，我很确定右边最后两个字一定是"当阳"，这是湖北省的一个地名，第二个字确实看不清楚(^_^)

在網上查了一下, 不知道語中是否警戒做官要清廉, 否則 下塲会就像 「夢登湛露殿」了...
