Don't Be Fooled by Frauds One day in the past I got this email from a friend and she said she went on a trip to somewhere and then lost her wallet. So she had no money and asked for sending her some. I felt really strange about that. I made a call to that friend right off the bat. She said "What are you talking about? I'm at work. I'm in Seoul. That's funny. What are you going to do with that?" I reported it to the police and they said that there was nothing they could do about it because in most cases, such email was sent from our neighboring country that it was almost impossible to identify the location of IP address. And that there was nothing to do because I just wasn't fooled. This is another one of its kind. I got a phone call from my credit card company and it was automated. It said my payment was overdue and so wire the money to the given infomation. As soos as I heard that I was taken aback. Because I had paid it up on the day before that day. Specifically, I put my card payment in my bank account and then the card company gets the money automatically from the account on the fixed day every month. I thought that couldn't happen. I right away called the customer service center of the card company to check that out. The staff confirmed that my payment was made on the very day and nothing was left unpaid. Phew! And that their outbound call record showed that they hadn't given me a call regarding that matter.

There are lots of internet frauds around, I have online accounts and they automatically mark messages like this as spam. Even though the first email appears to have come from your friend's email I suspect it didn't. You acted correctly in checking before parting with any money, well done!
