The Seven Wonders of the World (1: Petra).

Petra is a Nabatean and a historical city where it's located in Jordan. This city is a symbol of Jordan because it is one of the famous tourist destination in the country, in particular and in the Arab area in general. Petra was designed by its carved stone, and considered to be one of the seven Wonders of the World.

Regarding the weather, the average maximum temperature during Summer (July and August) is about 40° and 41° while the average minimum temperature is 23° during December and February.

Petra was marked a very long and old history. The first population were nomads and a lot of scientists and historians had a big difficulty to find the trace of that population which was considered like as a part of the old Nabataean civilisation because they were living there for a long time. After the Byzantine period, the city was totally given up. Unfortunately, there are just not much sources and information to understand the whole history of the city.

Today, Petra is a big interest. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage". It has been titled as a one of the new Seven Wonders of the World in 2007 and was also chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the "28 Places to See Before You Die".

Yes, Petra is very interesting. I've never been there but I've watched shows on television which have talked about its history and I've read articles about it. It is just fascinating that it was built so long ago and today it is still in such good condition.
