Mexican Spanish
How to find a partner on italki? Lately, I have read some entries from women who complain about finding partners on iltalki. That is due to there are members who do not want to learn any language. Literally, women say "they want anything else but learn languages". Personally, I am a native spanish speaker and I have found several partners to practice English with therefore I would like share with you how I did it: 1. In order to do a language exchange, I always search native speakers from USA and UK who are learning spanish. Since American English and British English are taught at my English classes, I want to practice them. It could apply to many languages, for instance, If you want to learn Portuguese and you are interested in Brazilian Portuguese you should search partners from Brazil. 2. I do not answer this kind of messages: Hi, hello, how are you?, hey there, can we be friends?, how are you doing?, hey, etc. My partners, who sent me messages in order to ask me be partners, they always sent me personalized messages telling me their name, where they are from and their interest for learning spanish. Of course, I do the same when I send messages. 3. If someone tell me that he is studying spanish but he only communicates in english, I ask him questions in spanish and immediately I realize if he is lying or not. There are people who are not interested in learning spanish and they send me bothering messages like: How old are you?, Are you married?, tell me something about you, etc. It does not matter your age, your marriage status or your personal information if you are committed to learn a language. I hope this entry is useful for you!

How to find a partner on italki?

Lately, I have read some entries from women who complain about finding partners on iltalki. That is because there are members who do not want to learn any language. Literally, women say "they want anything else but learn languages".

Personally, I am a native spanish speaker and I have found several partners to practice English with therefore I would like to share with you how I did it:

1. In order to do a language exchange, I always search for native speakers from the USA and the UK who are learning spanish. Since American English and British English are taught at my English classes, I want to practice both. This could be applied to many languages, for instance, If you want to learn Portuguese and you are interested in Brazilian Portuguese you should search for partners from Brazil.

2. I do not answer this kind of messages: Hi, hello, how are you?, hey there, can we be friends?, how are you doing?, hey, etc. My partners, who sent me messages in order to ask me to be partners, always wrote personalized messages telling me their name, where they are from and their interest for learning spanish. Of course, I do the same when I send messages.

3. If someone tells me that he is studying spanish but he only communicates in english, I ask him questions in spanish and immediately I realize if he is lying or not. There are people who are not interested in learning spanish and they send me annoying messages like: How old are you?, Are you married?, tell me something about you, etc. Your age, your marriage status or your personal information don't matter if you are committed to learn a language.

I hope this entry is useful for you!

It's easier for you because you are a woman. Many women don't want to chat with men because there are many creeps. I have also received messages asking me about my marital status, my age or my job. Once, someone wrote me that he wanted to learn Spanish because he loves Brazil. I also avoid chatting with people who don't know any Spanish, because that shows that they have never been interested in learning Spanish.
