Hi everyone ! Today it's been over two weeks that I have subscribed to italki. I already have met a lot of nice people ready to help me improving my American accent. I remember when I was at school, I got bored with English and now I'm really keen in it ! This new challenge takes all my time because whatever I do, I try to think in English. At the beginning of my learning process, I used a notebook to write down all the words that I didn't know and when I came back home, I searched for translating them. From now, I've decided to not use this method and try to keep the new words in my mind. Maybe this new method won't be efficient but like a French modo says " Qui ne tente rien, n'a rien" which means " Who tries nothing, get nothing " It's been 2 days that I've got the impression of loosing my American accent ?! This is kind of weird because sometimes I feel at my ease when I speak English and actually, I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe it's just an impression, the fact that struggling means that I'm progressing and increasing my level. Time will say it ! Anyway I'm very pleased to be a part of this website and meet people like me who want to open their minds to foreigners.

I'm impressed! Very good English. I also understand your struggles! It is the same for me! :) What I've learned is the most important thing is to keep going, and you will inevitably get better! Keep speaking with Americans, and copy the sounds they make. Good luck!
