"Cathedral" by Ramond Carver, consist with short stories I am now reading a short-stories book named "Cathedral" by Ramond Carver. He is very famouse writer who won a most popular ,Pulitzer Prize. I just put on the shelves when I recommended and get that book from friend. She forced me to bring that book... When she is drunk, she has a habbit to force something she likes. As you know, when people get something forced, usually doing something reluctantly. Yesterday evening, when I saw a book in the bookstand, Something is came up. I thought, 'It is just series of short stories, let's read a single one.' And then, after 30 minutes, I finished a single story. His style and words are very simple. But, the contents and the meaning in the story is amazing. He has a serene style when he show ordinary get adversity in their life. When people past a hard time, it must be painful. But he show us their adversity as a very calm stress. It may feels like bleakly to some, also same to my friend who recommend this book. But to me, I can feel something 'consolidation'. Everyone must have a problem, which cannot fix easily. That problem could possibly ruin our whole life. And it seems that never be solved. But in his book, all character do the thing - anything, just live on. They feel scared or don't know what to do, but still their life goes on. Why this stories makes Caver win Pulizer? That's why American(Carver is American) people also experienced same thing. Not only American but also Every single people in the morden life could get a 'problem'. How could we do? Just feel sorry about that? Caver never show us the solution, but he soothe us. Art could suggest us a solution? No, but art could reveal us how much we suffer, let us know how big pains we have and soothe us. This book soothe us gently and that's why Carver is the most significant wirter in these days. Even I am not finished this book, but I want to recommend this book for all of you. Also it is easy to read. Words are not that difficult. I am very glad anyone who corret my writing. Thank you.
