You are doing well, just remember that we are using the infinitive, that is, the base form after the particle (not a preposition in this context) "to." We're not using the gerund in this structure. If you wanted to use the gerund, you would start the phrase " I make a habit of not…."

 

I make a habit not to + verb.

1. I make it a habit not to carry too much cash.

2. I make it a habit not to show my emotions.

3. I make it a habit not to get up early.

4. I make it a habit not to go to bed (bed is good, not bad) early.

5. I make it a habit not to drink on weekdays.

6. I make it a habit not to read books everyday. Really?
