My Hometown(I)

Shanghai is my hometown. Many Shanghai residents in the past lived in the stone houses in the past.They spoke the Shanghai dialect. Due to the Because the familyies lived close to the house, neighbors usually took care of each other as if they were relatives. If which a family made wrapped wonton or rice dumplings, the neighbors would received a bowl of it. When young people married, the neighbors would took take part in the wedding, and sendt them a red pocket to them. Children studied in school and played games in the alley together. In summer, people shook cattail leaf fans to enjoy cool air while gathering in the alley. At every festival and New Year , the fragrance of sliced cold chicken and sauteed shrimps was always floating in the air from a neighbor's kitchen. Now stone houses have turned into tall buildings, people have moved to their new house to live, but the relationship between neighbors has faded, and most people also go to restaurants for New Year's eve dinner.
Shanghai is a diverseified city; it was formerly a British and French colony. Along the west of the HuangPu river, there are 1.5 kilometres of the exotic building clusters in the Bund , it also which was the symbol of old Shanghai's prosperity. Along the east of the river, lots of modern skyscrapers are have sprung up. Shanghai is crowded and busy. People from around the country gather here. They have [too?] many much dreams in Shanghai. In the streets, subway or office, Mandarin is heard filled everywhere. Of course, there are foreign languages too. Many foreigners come to Shanghai to work and do business. The influx of a large population has caused traffic congestion and rising house prices. In During the rush hour period time, there are the subway is full of people in subway and there are too many much cars on the road. Only in the rural new year Shanghai returns to it's former calm while lots of people come go back/return to their hometown.
