Give up- postion of object / pronoun.
Missymarie has the best solution -give up on something. The noun or pronoun after the 'give up' - eg. Don't give up on English. - or -. Don't give up on it.
You can also say - give something up. With a noun between the verb or after the verb. -eg. I won't give English up -or- I won't give up English. If you use a pronoun (it) you have to put it in the middle- eg. I won't give it up.
or just - Give up -without an object when it is clear what you are giving up.- eg. English is hard but I won't give up.
