Something short about Greek historiography.
I think it's important to start writing in English about scholarly things; this is why I'm going to try to translate a paragraph of one of my projects about Greek historiography.
In the time of
Herodotus and Thucydides, historians started to be witnesses of changes, mainly changes that have to do with things close in time. Forthermore, historians had to choose which changes to record by considering the most importants interests of the community. Acoordingly, they chose to record those changes and facts that had to do with political and military topics because they were the topics more relevant to Greek historiography. Nevertheless, there were no rules about the way to choose the changes or facts that were going to be important in history. This is one limit that historical analysis has to deal with.
