Revisable life imprisoment
Revisable life imprisoment is is one of the most important innovations of the last reform of the Spanish Criminal Code. It is not only important because it is a new penalty but also by because it is very controversial. It is controversial because it has aroused considerable criticism and has raised various problems with turnaround in our criminal justice system.
It is not as novel in the rest of Europe, where most countries have a similar sentence, the chain life, in their systems. But this generality of the penalty has not prevented controversy, and even the ECHR has had to comment (?) on some of the questions posed by this measure.
If we do a comparative study we see how our regulation has several points in common with the regulations of these countries; but it is also true that they have their differences. In fact, except for the aspect of reviewing, it is virtually impossible to establish a common framework to be followed by all countries because their regulations are quite varied and different.
Very nice English!
