"The teacher is the heart of the educational system" I had to write an essay on the quote of Sydney Hook (an American philosopher). "Everyone who remembers his own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques. The teacher is the heart of the educational system." To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience. __________ "The teacher is the heart of the educational system", said Sydney Hook. I agree with the statement of famous American philosopher. Children are more likely to remember people who helped them during studying than to keep in memory what methods were used. That is because kids are dependent on how adult person treats them. I would like to support my point of view with some examples. On the one hand, a teacher can be aware of first-rate techniques, fashionable tips from phycologists, valuable experience of previous generations, but he or she would not be able to use these methods in real life. Children would be bored and annoyed, they would not have interest in what their teacher does. On the other hand, kids can be lucky enough to meet a passionate and wise teacher who might be not familiar with the works of phycologists and methodists, but this teacher "feels" a kid. Such person can find a "key" to any type of a child and to develop their talents and abilities. So, the children will obviously remember this teacher, not only as a lecturer, but as a friend. To summarize, Sydney Hook was fairly right to say that it is the teacher who "make" studying, that we do not forget those who helped us on our way to education an intelligence.
