What to read in German after learning basic grammar? I almost learned basic German grammar.I'm quite confused what to read next.I need suggestions for reading something light and easy, since my vocabulary isn't vast.Children story books,Fables and fairytales would be a good choice but the problem is I really don't have any idea about them.I would be so thankful if anyone would suggest some easy children story books( specific book with names).

Sorry for the late answer... take a look at this list: http://www.fluentu.com/german/blog/great-german-childrens-books-for-beginners/ I would have named two books and both are in this list. It doesn't matter which they are. All of the books on the list are good ones. Read the summaries and decide which one sounds good to you! :)

Thank you Moritz Noricus. Can you please suggest something easy like children story books or something (some specific book's name).

Fairytales tend to be problematic. Our classics are traditional fairy tales collected in the 19th century. So originally they were written down in the language of these days. It really depends on the edition whether you can tackle them, or whether it makes sense to. I found this collection which is not too intimidating at 88 pages, and it says it's "Für Ausländer bearbeitet und mit Anmerkungen versehen": http://www.amazon.de/Deutsche-M%C3%A4rchen-Sagen-Ausl%C3%A4nder-bearbeitet/dp/3190010226/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1331905290&sr=1-7#_
