For centuries, in Korea, Confucianism has been the dominant thought that tells people how to live and behave. Although in modern days we don't grow up with the teachings of Confucianism, the idea of it still remains in society, in people's minds. Funny thing is, people go against it. Many people, not only young people, enjoy free love, and the weight of sex in reality is not as heavy as it's supposed to be by the dominant thought in Korea. Very few people keep their virginity until marriage. However, people would still think it's insane if somebody said proudly that he has lost virginity, and in fact, had a lot of experiences, especially if she was a girl. In Korea, it's okay that you do it, but you have to do it secretly, and never talk about it.
