About three verbs: do/ make/ have I'm Vietnamese and learning English. I want to take a Ielts exams as soon as possible but my current level is very low. Now in my book there is a exercise about three verbs: do/ make/ have and i only have 3/6 correct choices. I know where the mistakes are but i don't know why. I searched Google about three verbs and then the explanation in Vietnamese is very unuseful. So can anyone help me? I remember that someone told me that if i learn English, i must learn a clause (like "take a test" "do my homework",...) so should i remember details as: made progress, do a lot of damage to the enviroment, have negative effect,...???

@Ravi: I know that. Because of the expensive cost (involve the fee for an IELTS test and studying), I study by myself to increase my score up to about 4.5 or 5.0 and then I will take a course (or courses @@). Thank you for sharing me. >:D<

@Ruthi: I guess: - make: used for activities by myself or somethings like desision, mistake, arrangement,.. - do: used for jobs, responsibilities - have: (I have no idea) and when i searched i saw there are some fixed expressions with three above verbs. Can you explain more clearly for me?

Hi Giang. I think that if you want to learn about these rules fast, you should take a class. One way to learn is to read as much as possible—choose a book / text that is below your level so you can understand what's written—so you can come across these examples . Regarding the IELTS: You can go to some websites or YouTube and do exercises from past IELTS tests. This way you'll have a good idea if you are prepared to take it. (The IELTS is very expensive, here in Canada it costs over 300 dollars.)

I can help you but I think it's better if you have a lesson on this, because you need to ask questions and do exercises and get corrections. I cannot explain it in one or two sentences.
