Girl with a Pearl Earing
Yesterday I admired the famous Vermeer's famous painting "Girl with a Pearl Earing" at Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague. As It's well known that this picture it's is remarkable because for several reasons, such as its brilliant using use of colours and the way the painter achive to focuses the viewer´s attention over the face of the girl. It is made possible by using background painting the background in black. The brushstrokes are elegants and they are also soft.
An interesting point about this picture: despicte (despite) what it seems, it isn't a real an actual portrait. The girl who is shown never existed. She was invented by Veermer's imagination.
Finally, I would make a complaint about my visit to the Museum. Why do most of tourists prefer making selfish selfies in front of that picture rather than enjoying it in silence? Why do they think that it's more important to deliver (or send) a photo to their friends than it is to enjoy this masterpiece?
