This guy is not right

This is the story about a guy who caused a forest fire on purpose so he could extingish it right after.

"He went with his car from the city center to the outskirts. He set on fire the remains left by a harvester on fire. Then he went back to the city council parking lot. Then he would go to extingish it as a volunteer."

Police have detained a man accused of provoking several forestfires during July.

He usually to provoke started a fire and then rushed away.

(Used to suggests that he did it in the past, a long time ago, but that had then stopped doing it.)

But last time he crashed his car into a wall. That was the clue that allowed police to relate the forest_fires with to him.  The invesigation carried out has taken up to ten days.

Witnesses also helped to indentify his car, which was seen by many of them minutes before the forest_fire began.

Sadly, this is a true story.

On a positive note, your English level is excellent!  You have written very well, with just a few small details to consider.  Some of them are also to make it sound more natural.
