Soft drinks kill your entire body due to containing a high level of sugar, and narcotic hidden substances. After has thoroughly understanding and being aware of how dangerous such soft drinks are, since I stopped having that sort of drink a long time ago. However, many people cannot stop drinking them, precisely because such soft drinks contain a quite highly addictive substance that essentially lethally jeopardises your immune system, and will result in degrading your whole body function. As to me, I rarely consume such a soft drink, but once I read this article, I feel increasingly worried about this kind of almost narcotic product. I think that, in a sense, consuming excessive soft drinks would be much worse than drinking alcohol. I swear these products ought to be untouchable and proscribed for the rest of my life.
Notes:
"I stopped having that sort of drink a long time ago, after I had thoroughly understood..." is OK too.
"minacious" is a rare word, most people will never say this.
"slaying"はちょっと言い過ぎでしょう、"degrading" or "debilitating" is better.
"As to me" is unnatural English. You could say "As for myself, I rarely..." or "I myself rarely..." but you can also omit it.
"...would be much worse" might be better as "...can be much worse" or "...might be much worse", it depends how strongly you want to emphasize this.
(私もめったにしか飲みませんね。)
