shit company Today has been a hard day... I had a problem 7 days ago.. well an accident while i was working as kitchen porter. I burnt my foot with boilt water.. and now, just can get 80 pounds per week (governament), because the company tell me ,that they are not guilty ..that it was my fault.. but i´m not sure about this .. i think that the company has the dutty to provide the workers with safety shoes, and they didn´t give me anything ,if i would have a safety shoes ,the accident wouldn´t has happened.. And now I dont know What i do... can help me anyone?? thanks

I think that the company has the duty to provide the workers with safety shoes, and they didn´t give me anything. If i would have had a pair of safety shoes ,the accident wouldn´t have happened.. It is your responsibility to come to work in appropriate clothing, although the company should advise you on what you should wear. If the accident was a consequence of poor safety procedure [information or enforcement] by the company, you can seek redress through an Industrial Tribunal. In your case, the injury should heal within a couple of weeks, and you will be fit to work again. Put it down to experience and, if you do similar work again, make sure you wear suitable footwear.
