House or Home
I couldn't understand the difference between of house and home when I started to study English,
because both words house and home is are changed to ie(家) in Japanese.
I asked my teacher about the difference between the two, but he couldn't answer.
A long many time has passed, I have a friend who is an has license of teaching English teacher and come from Guam.
I asked again.
He said that a mother makes a home and a father builds a house. Now I understand.
I could get and like it.
I suggest that, a) you change your teacher and b) that a house is a building, and a home is where someone/people live. You can have "the dog's house", "the House of Lords". You talk about your home town (it is where you come from/where you grew up). You don't say my house town.
