One of my first memories as a child. It´s believed that we can have memories two or three years after our births. In my case I have memories from the age of three. I still remember the first day in kindergarten, there were many children around me; some of them were crying and asked their mothers not to leave them there; few of them kept close to their mothers holding their hands and looking at the other classmates and just a few of these kids were happy to be there. As far as I remember, I was in the latter group, I wasn´t crying but I was not happy, either. It scared me to think that my mom could leave me alone with kids to whom I had never seen before. However, I also knew I was not a toddler so it was time to fly. At the end of that class most of my classmates were playing together with a big smile on their faces, me too.

One of My First Memories As a Child.

It´s believed that we can have memories two or three years after our births. In my case, I have memories from the age of three. I still remember the first day of kindergarten.  There were many children around me, and some of them were crying and asking their mothers not to leave them there.  A few of them kept close to their mothers, holding their hands and looking at the other classmates. Only a few of these kids were happy to be there.

As far as I remember, I was in the latter group.  I wasn´t crying, but I was not happy, either. It scared me to think that my mom could leave me alone with kids to whom I had never seen before. However, I also knew I was not a toddler, so it was time to let go. At the end of that class, most of my classmates were playing together with a big smile on their faces, including me.

Good work!

The phrase, "fly the coop," means:

To leave somewhere, especially to leave your home for the first time in order to live away from the family.

Usage notes: A coop is a place where chickens are kept.

The last of our kids has finally flown the coop, so we have the whole house to ourselves.
