Hungarian: verb TO CARRY

Õ egy táskát cipelt = He was carrying a bag
Nem volt nála esernyõ = he wasn't carrying an umbrella

My question is the verb to carry?
Which one is it, or both: cipelt or nála?
Or is this a mistake in the book?

Hi! The both sentenses are good in the book. Carry is cipel in hungarian. Just we do not say: Ő egy esernyőt cipel. It sounds better: Nem volt nála esernyő. Nála is not a verb. "Ő nála" means at her/him. * it is also correct: Volt nála egy táska.

cipel = to carry something heavy

Nem volt nála esernyő = No umbrella was at him (if we want to translate it word by word) - The book translated the sentence this way because it's more natural. We don't say "Nem cipelt esernyőt", since an umbrella is not a heavy object. But you can say "Nem vitt magával esernyőt" ("He didn't take an umbrella with him").
