Hunter Grahn
Starting off slow よろしくね、俺はハンターです!That's about the best sentence I can manage for now unfortunately. I'm learning kanji at an alright pace, but i'm currently struggling with building vocabulary and learning how to use particles correctly.

Starting off slow

俺はハンターです!よろしくね

would be the natural order.

You are using Kanji and Katakana already? That is really amazing because

some people can write difficult sentences but write only in alphabets,

or only in Hiragana.

It is the best to follow a text book like GENKI, it is available online for free.

I have taught people who was using this book, it was a good one.

Also learning Kanji step by step like we do at elementary schools might be better,

but it's just my opinion.

Though understandable people make this mistake in understanding the differences in nuance, the above explanation is not correct. It is perfectly alright to use です while using 俺 at the same time. 俺 is a pure masculine word which is not used by females (if any chooses to do so it would sound and look very strange but some ladies may just want to) and has nothing to do with formal or casual usage though it would be not advisable to be used during a business conversation lol. 俺 is not rude but only very masculine and adding です makes it only polite and gives a positive nuance.

The beginning of learning a new language is hard but just keep at it and it will become easier. Just a tip for the common male "I" in Japanese are 僕 ぼく and 俺 おれ. If you are using です and speaking formally you should not use おれ。
