Panghinaharap NA mga pangungusap/Mga panghinaharap NA pangungusap = Sentences in the future tense.

Ako ay nag-aral ng panghinaharap pangungusap sa Tagalog. → Ako ay nag-aral ng mga panghinaharap na pangungusap sa Tagalog. = I studied sentences in the future tense in Tagalog.

Nagsulat ko ilang mga halimbawa. → Nagsulat ako ng ilang mga halimbawa. = I wrote some examples.

Most Tagalog verbs are formed using the prefix “MAG” or the affix “UM”.

Examples:

“basa” = read

“magbasa” = to read → “NAGbasa” (read - past tense); “NAGBAbasa” (reading – present tense, first syllable repeated); “MAGBAbasa” (will read – future tense, first syllable repeated)

or

“bUMasa” (this form is less often used though) = to read -> “bUMasa” (read – past tense, same as the infinitive form); “bUMaBAsa” (reading – the first syllable is repeated); “BAbasa” (will read – first syllable repeated without the UM).

Ako ay nagbabasa ng paboritong libro ko bukas. (nagbabasa → magbabasa)

Si Lila ay nagsusulat ng pag-ibig na kuwento sa isang linggo. (nagsusulat → magsusulat) (pag-ibig na kuwento → isang kuwento ng pag-ibig = a love story)

Sina Mark at Karlo AY naguusap ng politics mamaya. (nag-uusap → mag-uusap) (use a hyphen when the root word starts with a vowel)

Siya ay lalangoy sa pool sa makalawa. (correct - "lalangoy" is an UM verb)

Sila ay praktis ng sasayaw bukas. (praktis → magpapraktis – if the first syllable of the root word starts with 2 consonants, e.g., “PRaktis”, the second consonant is usually omitted at the first instance of the repetition - "PaPRaktis". The verb in this sentence is “praktis” (practice) and not “sayaw” (dance – a noun, in this case; therefore, it is not be conjugated: sasayaw → sayaw).

Ako ay kakanta sa ilang araw. - “Kakanta” is correct, but the sentence means, “I will sing/will be singing on some days” - It could mean something like, you're talking about a venue where there will a singer each day. Some days you will be the singer and someone else will do it on the other days).

Ako ay kakanta isang araw. = I will sing one day/someday.

Ako ay kakanta nang ilang araw. = I will sing/will be singing for a few days.
