A Cricket A green cricket entered my room some minutes ago while I was practicing English, so I looked up the word "grillo" (Italian word) in the dictionary and I found that it means "cricket". Sometimes I don't know basic words as this one. In fact my vocabulary is the worst part of my English. At any rate, I was amused by this word because there is also a sport called "cricket". But these two ones are not connected at all. The name of the game originates from another root, as I have read. I believe that this coincidence could help me to remember the word "cricket" for a longer time. If there was a coincidence like this for every word I would learn languages faster.

A Cricket

A green cricket entered my room some minutes ago while I was practicing English, so I looked up the word "grillo" (Italian word) in the dictionary and I found that it means "cricket".
Sometimes I don't know basic words as[meglio "like"] this one. In fact, my vocabulary is the worst  part of my English. [meglio "is my weak point in English"]
At any rate, I was amused by this word because there is also a sport called "cricket". But these two onesthings are not connected at all. [Conosci Jiminy Cricket? È il grillo parlante di Pinocchio, versione Disney.]
I read that Tthe name of the game originates from [o "comes from"]another root., as I have read.
I believe that this coincidence[meglio "double-meaning"] could help me to remember the word "cricket" for a longer time.
If there was awere coincidences like this for every word, I would learn languages faster.
