Essay About Nell Movie Since the beginning of the humanity the human being has created methods to communicate each other. The evolution of theses “methods” are now what we know as modern languages. The Storyline of the movie Nell show us how a person can interact with the modern world no speaking a current language known. Nell, the protagonist of the movie, had lived all her life with her mother, and was the only person had seen until she died. It was a big challenge to face for her when seeing other humans. Afterward, she met two doctors that want to helper. At the begging the communication was complicated, she spoke a language the doctors didn’t speak; however it was a language. Nell could express her ideas on her own way. Jerome, one of the doctors, decided to record her while she was combing in front on the mirror. He repeats the same words and Nell suddenly went to the mirror and began to sing. That’s a proof that there was a relation among the activities she did and the phrases she thought while was doing them, so there was a structure in her mind. The doctors opened their minds with her and make more sensitive with Nell’s language. In that point they really began to understand her language, the importance of the caress, the smiles, and the sensitive with the nature. She could enjoy the little details of each activity such as swimming, running, see the sky, combing and remembering her childhood. For that reason, her language was unspoken for insensitive people. A good example is others doctors that was in the hospital that thought she was a retard because she could not speak English. Nell was very innocent. Her mind was not dirty of pervert ideas about nudes and sex. And it was another challenge she had to face with other humans. However, they/we all have the problem with our sick way to see those kinds of topics. In one scene of the movie, Nell could communicate with her mother in spite she had passed away. Even she could touch her mother’s hand in her mind while they were talking. We all know that language have a direct connection with the way of thinking, the precision of ideas and memories. With the melody of a song and intoning some words, she could bring back memories of her childhood and lost the notion of reality: time and space. Nowadays, a person has to pay a lot of money to a psychologist for sections of therapies to get that high level of relaxation and can remember sweet episodes of their lives.
