Meditation at Work Mediation is basically about learning how to let go of unnecessary desires or greed over material possessions. Therefore, many people tend to think that corporations and meditation don’t go hand in hand because corporations and the people who work for them alike are all obsessed with making the biggest profits. However, this is not necessarily the case. According to some companies which are encouraging their employees to practice meditation, employees become more productive and creative after participating in their in-house meditation programs. As a result, more and more companies are trying to follow their suits. For example, South Korean company ‘Samsung’ is also planning to implement its own meditation program among its employees. In highly competitive business settings, employees can get easily stressed out. Therefore, it is crucial for the corporations to care for their employees’ mental health. Critics might wonder why the corporation has to be the one who goes out of its way and take care of its employees’ mental health or inner peace. However, they should be reminded that having mentally healthy and stable employees work for them will boost proficiency and bring greater profits in the long run.

Notes:

It is “both” desires and greed, not one “or” the other.

You have two things: corporations, employees. So “all” is not used.

That sentence is a little bit…convoluted. You could write the same thing by just saying, “…corporations and their employees care only about profits.”

“…which are encouraging their employees to practice meditation…” This is assumed by the fact that the companies are reporting the results.

In-house includes the meaning of “their”

“trying to” has the nuance that some companies are failing at making meditation programs.

“follow suit”: This comes from card games. Cards are split into four “suits”, and when playing the card game “bridge” (or others), if the first person plays a heart, the other people must “follow suit” and also play a heart. So you do not have to say “follow ‘their’ suit”

This is a little bit confusing: “easily get stressed out…” vs. “get easily stressed out...”. Here is how I think about it. Does “easily” modify “get stressed out” or does “get” modify “easily stressed out”. Do the employees “easily” get stressed out, or do they “get” easily stressed out. Here easily would mean a “specific” type of “stress”. “easy stress”. If there was a type of stress, say, “debilitating stress”: it would make sense to say “get debilitatingly stressed out”. Sorry if this is confusing.

“be the one who goes out of its way and takes care of”, this is not wrong, it is just unwieldy.

Your subject in the sentence before was “critics.” You don’t show a change in the subject, so the assumed “they” is critics. So, “they should be reminded….” “work for them…” mean “critics should be reminded” and “work for critics”.

I would rather have the big corporation not have me work 12 hours a day so I can go home and meditate myself outside corporate supervision. Do not know anything about working for Samsung specifically, I just wanted to mention the irony of it all.
