The story of Shanghai Call Center "How to rent an elephant in Shanghai?", "My girlfriend quarrels with me, I don’t understand what she said, so how should I do?", "I locked myself out of the house, help me!". If people ask you such kind of strange questions all day, how will you answer? And they ask questions all in foreign languages . It's not a fact in the film , it's a real work, The 24-hour Shanghai Call Center Hotline. The hotline provides information and translation services to travelers and expatriates in Shanghai in 13 languages, it is wide-ranging, covering all aspects of life , hailed as "magic hotline" by foreigners. Several years ago an American girl Susan received a hotline number before she left America. After she worked in Shanghai, she became the loyalest user of the hotline, asking road, taxi, where to eat, even bargaining in the meat and vegetable market all call this hotline for help. Lately a Japanese media reporter called hotline ask where to buy a brand soy sauce in Shanghai,although the stuff couldn't answer it immediately, but said they would notice him as soon as they go to find it. After he returned to Japan, the reporter wrote the article published in the newspaper and complimented the hotline's service . The operators of the hotline at an average of 25 years old are highly educated, of which 60% have graduate degree. The overseas returnees account for 70% of the Chinese employees. Every week the staffs attend classes given by foreign teachers. One of the staffs said that the most impressive thing is that they helped an American young man married China's wife. The detail was as follows: The young man went to his father in law's house with his girlfriend, the father in law asked the young man at first must answered his ten questions , then permitted her daughter married to him, and didn't let her daughter help translation. In a moment of desperation, the young man called the hotline for help. under the staff's translation and polish, the young man finally passed . Shanghai Call Center is such a place: helping foreigners overcome the language and culture barriers and living better in the city.

It seems some interesting work is done there. I believe you could make a movie from the facts involved in that line of work. It could be both serious and funny.
