the effect of cellphone on study habit In our society, the cellphone is one of the most popular technologies and day by day it becomes the essential part of our life. More than 6 billion have access to mobile phones in the world (UN study:2013). In Viet Nam, as of 2012 there are 134 million cellphone subscribers (CIA World Fact Book). Modern cellphone has variety of services such as calling, text messaging, internet, email, bluetooth, game and other services. Nowadays, smartphone is a type of cellphone but adding some features that in the past we found on computer such as Microsoft document, QWERTY keyboard, email account (Attwell,2005). Because of their convenient, we can call anyone at any time, keep us in constants communication with our families, our friend, and our business, surfing the internet everywhere . Especially students in college, they also use cellphone support their study fast and effectively. Attwell (2004) describes cellphone help connect both independent and teamwork having skill and the process raising self-esteem and self-confidence. Cellphone as necessary resources which make improve student literacy and numeracy skill, McNeal & Hooft (2006). Even though cellphone is popular use in learning environment but on the fact that they are “ a source of irritation, delinquency and even crime” Katz & James E (2008). The more cellphone advances, the more benefits it provide for students at education levels. Using cellphone during study is an essential aspect of education, it makes students improve their skills and helps the students understand and absorb what they are being taught. However, cellphone is affected their study if they do not how to use it effectively. Generally, it plays a big role in making our live easier. One cannot image the life without it. The purpose of this study is to help students understand clearly how to obtain information through using cellphone effectively on the study habit in order to improve their learning. No one can deniable its convenient, good tools for study or effect on student’s ability focus on learning depending on the attitude of a student.
