Job interview Hi everyone! I'll have a job interview on Wednesday and I need your help. My interviewer sent me some questions and topics that we would be discussing in the interview. Can you help me with the mistakes? These are the questions: "1) Do you understand the job role you are applying for? - Yes. I read the Domicialiary Care Statement of Purpose and I think I have a pretty clear idea about the job. 2) Moving to the UK and being away from friends and family is a big commitment. May I ask why you feel this is right for you? - Well, in Spain there's a lot of unemployment. It's difficult to find a good job. Moving to another country is an option you have to consider. I really like to work with people and helping them to be in a well-being state. That's why I studied Social Work. I know being away from my family and friends it could be a little hard at the begining, but it's something I really want to do. 3) What skills do you feel you have that would make you a good Social Care Worker? - I have empathy, I'm an active and responsible person, I have initiative, I'm respectful, I can communicate assertively, and I'm patient and understanding. Also I have some professional skills thanks to my education, like identify needs, analyze conflict stituations or conflict resolution. 4) Have you had much experience with challenging behaviour? - No, not much really. I've been taking care of my grandmother with my mother for several years. She has Alzheimer and she has gone through times when she had behavioral changes. Sometimes she was aggressive, sometimes she was sad. I learned a lot from this experience. Last summer, I was working in a hospital caring for an elderly person with autism. But this is all my experience with challenging behaviour. 5) Are you able to provide us with copies of your certificates? - Yes, of course." Thank you!

Further advice: Questions 4 - prepare an explanation of how you dealt with your grandmother when she felt either sad or aggressive. That will be the next questions they ask you! Since you worked at a care center with autistic adults, also prepare a statement of how you interacted with them, use specific examples of positive initiative in their care, and useful skills. I cannot tell you much about UK interviewers, but in the US it will always serve you well to state your qualities DEFINITIVELY, meaning without any show of uncertainty. Good luck and best wishes!

The corrections are just for grammar. Based on my experience with job interviews in the UK, I would advise to have some specific examples and stories to demonstrate the skills and attributes you list for question 3. Good luck!!
