Practice: IELTS Writing Task 2 (Book-9, Practice-4) Topic: Every year several languages die out. Some people think that this is not important because life will be easier if there are fewer languages in the world. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Answer: Because of the dominant use of some languages, many languages have died out, and every year it continues to die out several languages. Some people advocate that the world will be easier to communicate with fewer languages; therefore, they welcome this continued process. However, I strongly disagree with them. I believe that languages should be preserved from extinction for a better world. Languages, especially mother languages, are deeply related to the culture and the history of nations. More importantly, our brain process our thinking through our mother language. Preserving a language means preserving the culture, history and creativity of a nation. Cultural diversity is the beauty of a society and that beauty can be brightened by allocating space for many languages. To highlight the importance of the mother language, the great Nenson Mandela once said, if you talk to a person in a language, it goes to their brain, but if you talk to them in their mother language, it goes to their heart. Likewise, to improve the concern about mother languages, the UNESCO has declared 21st February as the international mother language day. We can communicate more effectively in our mother tongue than anything else. It is an integrated part of human beings. Additionally, in many researches, it has been observed that when people learn a new language their brain get improved. Like mathematics and other topics and knowledge, languages are useful for empowering brain and making us creative. In spite of the many advantages of languages, there is a minor problem with so many languages in the world. Because of globalization, we need to communicate with many nations around the world, but the communication process has been complicated because of too many languages. It seems, the process would be much easier with fewer languages. Consequently, English has emerged as an international language. In conclusion, I think, the extinction of many languages can be prevented by learning the mother language as the first language and, to communicate worldwide, learning English as the mandatory second language. By patronizing different languages, we can get a society that is more creative and culturally diverse.

Languages, especially mother languages, are deeply related to the culture and the history of nations. More importantly, our brain processes our thinking [perhaps it is better to simply say "thoughts"] through our mother language. Preserving a language means preserving the culture, history and creativity of a nation. Cultural diversity is the beauty of a society and that beauty can be brightened by allocating space for many languages. To highlight the importance of the mother language, the great Nenson Mandela once said: "If you talk to a person in a language, it goes to their brain, but if you talk to them in their mother language, it goes to their heart." Likewise, to improve the concern about mother languages, the UNESCO has declared the 21st February as the International Mother Language Day. We can communicate more effectively in our mother tongue than anything else. It is an integrated part of human beings.

Additionally, in many researches, it has been observed that when people learn a new language their brain gets improved. Like mathematics and other topics and knowledge, languages are useful for empowering brain activities and making us creative.

In spite of the many advantages of languages, there is a minor problem with so many languages in the world. Because of globalization, we need to communicate with many nations around the world, but the communication process has been complicated because as a result of there being too many languages. It seems that the process would be much easier with fewer languages. Consequently, English has emerged as an international language.

In conclusion, I think, the extinction of many languages can be prevented by learning the mother language as the first language and, to communicate worldwide, learning English as the mandatory second language. By patronizing [to me, the word "patronize" often has a negative connotation. I think you can try using "support" instead] different languages, we can get a society that is more creative and culturally diverse.
