Essay for Cae Nowadays every channel has reality and talent shows in its schedule. These programs have spread largely in the last decade and they have influenced greatly generations of young people, whether in a positive or negative way it has been discussed since then. Many supporters of these kind of shows claim that the first role of Tv is to entertain and there is nothing more interesting and appealing thing than people’s lives as is the case in shows like Big Brother or Island of famous, where people have to live together in a close environment trying to adapt to each other. Talent shows’s fans sustain that this kind of tv competitions help young talented people to emerge and reach popularity, therefore they represent a powerful tool to express creativity and reach popularity. Conversely, detractors consider realities and talents as rubbish tv shows. According to them the former have a seriously bad influence on young people due to the vulgar behavior that partecipants often have such as walking naked in front of the cameras or screaming to each other or even having sex. The latter, in detractors’s point of view, do not really let young performers to express their own ideas and creativity, but they are only used by majors to understand audience’s tastes in order to identify to most popular competitor who could sell records more easily. On the balance, I totally agree with detractors’s opinion regarding the dire influence of reality show, because no good values are transmitted to teens; however I do not completely agree regarding talent shows. Surely they do not always are good, but from time to time good singers come out from these competitions, who otherwise couldn’t express their art without tv. Can someone give me a review? Thanks!
