My childhood In my childhood, I was often ill so I used to spend most of my time at home reading lots of different books and comics, drawing, playing with my elder brother, listening to music or watching TV, especially Japanese or Disney's animated cartoons. At the time, both of my parents worked, so my gradparents had to look after me. I enjoyed staying with them because they used to bring me toys and sweet things like candies or ice cream. Because of my illness I often felt sicke and tired of staying at home alone and doing nothing. So my mother used to buy me some small gifts to cheer me up, for example my favourite books like Roald Dahl's children books or “Goosebumps” books. Although I was often ill, I have some positive memories about my childhood days. My family and I used to travel by car a lot and I can remember clearly my brother and I listened to cartoons songs by Cristina D'Avena and sang them out loud while my parents put their fingers in their ears because they couldn't bear us! However, we used to go to the mountains during the holidays, where we did a lot of outdoor activities there, for example at Christmas we used to go skiing and in the summer we used to go for long walks together through the wood. Something else is that after school I used to play basketball at a sports hall twice a week. The rest of my free time I used to play hide-and-seek or football with my friends or I often invited them in my home to play video games or with dolls. Otherwise, we used to go to the fair, which took place from December to February in Venice, where we wasted money and time instead of studying and doing homework at home. I must say I'm a lucky person because I lived a happy childhood and I'm very aware of that.
