Cold Cold Cold

The weather has suddenly became cold recently. It seems that the season which is really hard for people to use their bike to go to school or work has came  come.
Yesterday, I ran into a friend who is from Egypt. I asked him "Do you have this cold weather in Egypt?". But he seems didn't seem to get what I meant. I know the sentence sounded wired weird. What I meant was "Does Egypt ever has have this cold temperature in winter or not?" (the "or not" is fine but unnecessary) I still don't know how to say it is correct correctly.
