What is history? What is history? The word history may be defined as a record of the past kept by historians, who select the facts they want and piece them together. However, it appears that not everything happened could make history and that significant events or influential figures are more likely to be remembered than everyday life. History is perceived to be inextricably linked with time and space. This may explain why a historic event normally takes place in a particular period of time and context, in which remarkable people, whom you may also call heroes or inventors, are nurtured and emerge. Historians, who are mostly motivated by their curiosity, choose to believe that what happened was simply a question of cause and effect, so they commit themselves to investigating the reasons for unusual occurrences, making history seems to us a series of events that follow a logical sequence. By examining history, people in the modern society may also find it easier to understand of why some social phenomena occur in the present and seek solutions to some of the current problems. Presumably, history repeats itself, but it seems that it does not a have a regular pattern, like the certainty of tides; thus I wonder whether history can be referred to when it comes to the future. Despite that, history still teaches us one important lesson: what is dreamed today, is to be the reality in the near future.

What is history?

The word history may be defined as a record of the past kept by historians, who select the facts they want and piece them together. However, it appears that not everything hat happened could make history and that significant events or influential figures are more likely to be remembered than everyday life.

History is perceived to be inextricably linked with time and space. This may explain why a historic event normally takes place in a particular period of time and context,

"in a particular period" or "in a particular time and context",

in which remarkable people, whom you may also call heroes or inventors, are nurtured and emerge.

Historians, who are mostly motivated by their curiosity, choose to believe that what happened was simply a question of cause and effect, so they commit themselves to investigating the reasons for unusual occurrences, making history seems to us a series of events that follow a logical sequence. By examining history, people in the modern society (or: modern societies) may also find it easier to understand of why some social phenomena occur in the present and seek solutions to some of the current problems.

Presumably, history repeats itself. But it seems that it does not a have a regular pattern  like the certainty of tides; thus, I wonder whether history can be referred to when it comes to the future. Despite that his, history still teaches us one important lesson: what is dreamed (of) today, is to be the reality in the near future.
