One of offline music stores in SG has closed its business. This Sunday, I went to HMV to buy some DVDs, but the store had disappeared. There were no shelves, no CDs, DVDs, and no people. At first I though they moved to another place, but there was no notice in front of the door. At home, I searched on the internet about what happened to HMV and found some information. According to it, they decided not to continue their lease and they were on the way to find another place. However, they also said that it's quite tough to run business these days because online music stores like iTunes, Google Play etc. are so convenient that less people buy CDs recently. So, in order to continue living in this industry, they need to do something different from what they used to do, such as focusing on Jazz or Classic, or starting a joint business with a coffee shop, something like that. I was shocked at this news because this store was the last HMV in Singapore. I agree that buying a song online is much easier, but when it comes to movies and dramas, I still prefer to have DVDs. They are too heavy to save my laptop.

Hello Yuka,

They are right it is becomning harder and harder for 'real' entertainment shops to survive these days. I know that you said that the dvds are too baig to save on your laptop but why not get a portable hard drive to connect to your laptop with the films on that?

Just a few small corrections with your writing. First of all if you are talking about something which happened before a point in the past you should use the past perfect. (had + past participle). Secondly if something is heavy it is too much to lift, you want one of the near synonyms 'big' or 'large'.

Hope this helps
