How Literature Search is related to Problem Statement, The formulation of Hypoth and Research Qs Before coming up with a problem statement, literature search helped me to get into the TV industry study. At the beginning, overmuch literatures on website and in library make me confused that what kind of topic I should select, but with reading more materials I have a clear direction. I learned the research of what has already been done in the area, and how they studied. Materials led me to deeply think to the problem I want to discuss. From a large quantity of literatures, researchers have different views in a topic, so their arguments would be what I focus more on. At the same time, I learned the background, problem situation and the types of problem which readers desire to understand, and I consider whether the new study could contribute to solving the problem or not. The literature search is like a guide who helps me to think the problem in TV industry. The literature search identified the research problem and possible hypotheses. They gave suggestions for helping me to give reasonable hypotheses and avoid unexpected difficulties. Thinking about the arguments in research is the first step of building my hypothesis. The large numbers of literatures led me to rethink the hypothesis. When I read more literatures, more specific question I came up with, and I would revise my hypotheses. Also, some researchers states their hypotheses which are clues for me. The literature search help me to build hypotheses and research questions in a right way.
