- とにかく、昨日はいい一日になりました.
(Anyway, it turned out to be a pretty good day.) (Do I really need 「昨日は」in that sentence?)

Priestはすごくつまらない映画だった。その話自体はいいけど、スローペースな映画だった。sounds more natural. Your sentence is correct.

- とにかく、昨日はいい一日になりました.
(Anyway, it turned out to be a pretty good day.) (Do I really need 「昨日は」in that sentence?)

～まくった　sounds really natural and a colloquial word, I guess ... Hahaha...

If the Firing Range is a room in the building, you can say, フィリング・レンジ or ファイリング・レンジ（？）の中はとってもうるさかった。

-- その後、Priestを見ることために映画館に行った。
(After that, we went to the theatre to watch Priest.)


- Priest はすごくつまらない映画だった。Priestの話はいい話だ、けどスローペースな映画だった。
(Priest was a very boring movie. Although the story was good, it was a very slow paced movie.)

Priestの話はいい話= not so good, but we tend to say that
Priestはいい話 = better

いい話だ。けど、　／　いい話だけど、

とにかく、昨日はいい一日になりました = better than 「とにかく、いい一日になりました」 I think. :)
（I went to the Firing Range yesterday.)
とにかく、いい一日になりました = You can also say that because you mentioned 「昨日Firing Range に行った。」（I went to the Firing Range yesterday.) in the first(top) line.

When you say "go to <place> to <do something>" in Japanese, you don't need to insert  "～のため／～のことのため" immediately before ”行った".

For example:

We went to the beach to swim.
（私たちは泳ぎにビーチに行った。）

I go to the shopping mall to buy books.
（私は本を買いにモールに行く。）

This sentence sounds quite natural with "昨日は”. Can be ommitted if you like, though. (^o^)
