I have a quick question!

Bill
I was wondering whether anyone in the Thai section knows the English translate
for this word... " อรอุม "

It's supposed to be a persons name. I've reviewed a Thai alphabet and the first character in the word has special meaning for the word apparently... " ... อ is a special case in that at the beginning of a word it is used as a silent initial for syllables that start with a vowel ..."

I've scratched my head for an hour now, and I can't get any closer to knowing what the name is, it's English translation I mean. Any thoughts?

Small hint, if it's helpful, the person's English name is Bee. A female name. However, that doesn't mean of course that the Thai name is the same as their chosen English name.

Thanks to anyone who can help, it's appreciated! :o)

Hi Will,

I'm native Thai speaker. Yes, what Langzi told you is correct. It's the name for woman and อรอุมา is correct word, pronouncing as "On-u-ma". It means " the beautiful woman".
