Hello! I’m Matt. I consider myself a teacher first, but I also work as a technical writer, writing about big software systems.
I'm a lucky person. Everyday I wake up and have fascinating conversations with people from all over the world. What's more, I get to teach the English language, something I love, and help these interesting people. At the end of the day, I get paid for it all and that's pretty nice too.
Besides teaching, I work as a freelance editor and writer in the IT field, writing programming tutorials and occasionally helping build documentation websites. But my passion is always with teaching and the humanities.

講師としての私
Here are some reasons people like learning with me:
- Comfortable class environment. I'm easy to talk to.
- Fun, interesting, and deep conversation. I don't like boring classes!
- Clear explanations.
- Honest assessments. I respect every student, but tell the truth too.
- Error reports after class
- Respect for the student's goals.
Everyone starts learning a language with some kind of dream. It may be a life-changing event, like immigration, but it also may be something as simple as satisfying a curiosity. My role as a teacher is to give students a flashlight, showing them how to use English to do what they want to do, and do it in the best possible way.
レッスンおよびティーチングスタイル
I teach three classes: conversation, preparation, and writing/reading.
# Conversation
I prefer dynamic, open conversations. That doesn't mean I don't have any methodology. In fact my teaching toolkit is always expanding. Sometimes I even make material about the English language, which I share online for free. But in my class I prefer an unstructured, or loosely structured environment.
Now many people wonder, won't we run out of things to say? No never. Well almost never.
# Presentation/Interview Preparation
This class I do prepare. Notable student successes: 3 FAANG developers, NY investment banker, MIT full-ride, large software conference presentation.
# Reading/Writing
Please ask.

Very good teacher. Cares about your own goals and needs. We had a really high quality conversation. The most important is, Matt is so professional that he pointed out some mistakes that I never realized before. Thanks a ton and see you later!

I guess 5 lessons is enough to make a short review.
I want to highlight two main pros of Matt compare to other teachers, especially for me:
1. He really tries to help you, doesn't forget what you said or what you ask him in previous lessons and uses this for discussion and learning process improvement.
2. Matt has sufficient knowledge in IT and similar topics terminology that is most interesting for me.
