I firstly knew Leni from a programme "people" in cctv 10. Her unique life was full of ups and downs and her art gave me big impression. when i saw some documentaries in youtube, I was so touched by her pro view, even it's hard for me to understand in german language. but her unique film stream was incredible. Triumph of the Will sealed her reputation as the greatest female filmmaker of the 20th century.

those were the films with chinese subtitles in tudou link. her documentaries were hailed as groundbreaking film-making, pioneering techniques involving cranes, tracking rails, and many cameras working at the same time.

In October, i enjoyed the short films from Blizfilm fesitival. there was a short film that took the photos or the inspiration from Triumph of the Will. the director introduced Leni Riefenstahl's film especially. she did great and was the best for the film industry. Thanks so much ,Leni Riefenstahl. http://blizfilm.de/

Last Saturday(6th 12), i took part in the shortfilm's show. and i shared more and new ideas from the films und den Leiter Robin Mallick

In Deutschland ist der Kurzfilm das Sprungbrett in die Film-Branche!

While the artistic achievements of Leni Riefenstahl are quite commonly approved, it should maybe be mentioned that in Germany there has always been a discussion about her political role. The movies "Triumph of the Will" (1934) and her film about the Olympic Games in Berlin 1936 have indeed be groundbreaking from an artistic point of view. However, unfortunately at the same time they can also be interpreted as propaganda for the Nazi regime. A more detailed discussion and further references to the literature can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riefenstahl

[Disclaimer: I don't want to accuse Leni Riefenstahl or Angelia (who posted this contribution) of any political intention. I just want to allude to the ambivalent reception that Riefenstahl has received.]
