Jing’an Temple Neighborhood(静安寺街道) now release a new tour route crossing some traditional Shanghai Long tang 1 . Visitors can feel the original Shanghai lifestyle within touch… On No.303Huashan Rd you can pay a visit to the former residence of Cai Yuanpei 2  ; In Yu garden3, you can enjoy the masterpiece Newspaper selling song composed the by Nie’er4. Or even visit the newspaper boy’s home (the real one, not the one portrayed by Nie’er in the song !)  Enjoy the Shanghai-style construction and feel the culture...Shanghai Long tang is a good choice for you!

The Majority building style here in Jing’an Temple neighborhood are villa, modern Long tang,high-class commercial housing, etc. This is what we called Shanghai Style. And this tour route actually offers the foreign visitors a chance to “be a Shanghainese for a day...it’s really a big success.

When Foreigners come visit the Long tang, they can see both the Shanghai-featured construction and the local life of Long tang residents, e.g. making wonton, singing Chinese opera and folk songs, knitting woolen sweater, etc. This fantastic tour impresses a lot of foreigners that they bring more of their friends to visit here

2.       Cai Yuanpei: Chinese 蔡元培, Wade-Giles: Ts'ai Yüan-p'ei, Courtesy name: Hèqīng (鶴卿);Sobriquet: "Lone Citizen" (孑民 Jiémín) (January 11, 1868 – March 5, 1940) was a Chinese educator and the chancellor of the Peking University, known for his critical evaluation of the Chinese culture that led to the influential May Fourth Movement. In his thinking, Cai was heavily influenced by Anarchism.

3.       Yu Garden: (Simplified Chinese: 豫园; Traditional Chinese: 豫園; Pinyin: Yùyuán), located in the center of the Old City in Shanghai, China, is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.

4.       Nie er: (traditional Chinese: 聶耳; simplified Chinese: 聂耳; pinyin: Niè ěr) (born as Nie Shouxin (traditional Chinese: 聶守信; simplified Chinese: 聂守信; pinyin: Niè Shǒuxīn) Courtesy name Ziyi (traditional Chinese: 子義 or 子藝; simplified Chinese: 子义 or 紫艺; pinyin: Zǐ Yì), (February 14, 1912—July 17, 1935) was a Chinese composer. He is known for composing the national anthem of the People's Republic of China, the March of the Volunteers. In numerous Shanghai magazines he went by the English name "George Njal"
