You Can't Learn English Grammar By Studying Grammar Rules

You can study grammar rules for years and you still won't be able to speak English. It doesn't help. You probably know this already, because you have tried.

You can't learn English by studying grammar rules, memorizing lists of vocabulary, studying textbooks, being correcting by a teacher, or taking tests. These things are all a waste of time.

But these are the things that 99% of teachers and books and classes tell you to do: analyze the language, study and practice.

Most students of second languages are not successful. After years of study they feel bored and frustrated, and they have zero fluency.

On the other hand, I have met street children in Asia who have never been to school, yet they speak excellent English. And some of the best English students I have ever met, never studied and never went to English classes. My Vietnamese is pretty good, and I never study.

Why is this? Why do students who study hard for years almost never speak English fluently, but many people who never study do learn to speak English fluently?

It's because you can only learn a second language by experience. You can't learn a second language by studying.
