Filipino(Tagalog) Pronouns

This time we will study the Filipino(Tagalog) pronouns and how to use them in a sentence. Pronouns are so important in Filipino(tagalog) language because its structure is used in formal or informal daily conversation. Personal pronouns ( refers to the persons speaking, to the persons spoken to, or the persons or things spoken about). Indefenite pronouns, relative pronouns (connect parts of the sentence). Here is the list of Filipino(Tagalog) pronouns.

1. I - ako 2. you - ikaw 3. she - siya 4. he - she 5. we - kami 6. they - sila 7. us - tayo 8. you(plural) - kayo 9. him - sa kanya 10.his-ang kanyang

11. her - sa kanya 12. them - sa kanila 13. their - ang kanilang 14. our - ang aming 15. mine - akin

To understand the importance of pronouns in Flilpino(Tagalog), we will write some examples using all the pronouns. Later on try your skills on how to write your own idea using the pronouns. Look at the simple sentences as follows.

1. I am a man. - Ako ay isang lalake. 2. You are a woman. - Ikaw ay isang babae. 3. She is a woman. - Siya ay isang babae.

4. He is a man. Siya ay isang lalaki. 5. We are men. - Kami ay mga lalake. 6. They are women. - Sila ay mga babae.

7. All of us. - Tayong lahat. 8. You are Filipino. - Kayo ay mga Pilipino. 9. This bicycle is for him. - Ang bisikletang ito ay para sa kanya.

10. His car is expensive. - Ang kanyang kotse ay mahal. 11. Her bed is tidy. - Ang kanyang kama ay maayos.

12. For them money is worthless. - Para sa kanila ang pera ay walang halaga. 13. They are building their house. - Itinatayo nila ang kanilang bahay.

14. Our maid cooked the food. - Nagluto ng pagkain ang aming katulong. 15. These books are mine. - Akin ang mga librong ito.

16. I will go on shopping tomorrow. - Ako ay mamimili bukas. 17. You are intelligent. - Ikaw ay marunong. 18. She is beautiful. - Siya ay maganda.

19. He is handsome. - Siya ay guwapo. 20. We are from the Philippines. - Kami ay taga Pilipinas. 21. Where are they? - Nasaan sila?

22. Are you listening to your teacher? - Nakikinig ba kayo sa inyong guro? 23. Where are you from? - Taga saan kayo?

24. His mother bought a watch for him. - Bumili ng relo ang nanay niya para sa kanya. 25. His father is a doctor. - Ang tatay niya ay isang doktor.

26. She finished her homework. - Tinapos niya ang kanyang araling pangbahay. 27. This farm is for them. - Ang bukid na ito ay para sa kanila.

28. Their plan is to build a new building. - Ang kanilang plano ay magtayo ng bagong gusali. 29. Our plan was delayed. - Naantala ang aming plano.

30. This house and lot is mine. - Ang bahay at loteng ito ay akin. 31. He is a friend of mine. - Siya ay aking kaibigan.
