Flipino(Tagalog) Using "Po and Opo"
Many Filipino(Tagalog) learners are asking the proper usage of "po or opo". Usually "po or opo" is a word of respect while in a formal conversation with other people specially to the elders. Let me give you an idea on how to apply it while you are in a conversation or writing phrases and sentences. You can use "po" just after ( sino - who , saan - where, kailan - when, paano - how, ano - what) whenever you are asking a question. If you are writing a sentence or if you are in a formal conversation, you can use "po" at the end of the sentence. Don't worry it's not difficult to apply this while you are talking or writing. Now look at the examples of "po".
1. Who are you? - Sino po sila? / Sino po kayo?
2. What do you want? - Ano po ang gusto ninyo? / Ano po ang gusto nila?
3. When you are leaving? - Kailan po kayo aalis? / Kailan po ba ang alis nila?
4. Where is the nearest hospital? - Nasaan po ang pinalamalapit na hospital?
5. How can I get to the market? - Paano po ako makakarating sa palengke?
6. Thank you so much. - Maraming salamat po.
7. Not yet - Hindi pa po
8. Come in - Tuloy po
9. Already done - Tapos na po
10. Surely - Sigurado po
11. Wait please - Maghintay lang po
12. I need it - Kailangan ko po
