The verb will generally stays singular if the singular subjects are excluded themselves. ex:" C'est la perseverance et non l'orgueuil qui vous fera parvenir a vos fins"

It can have coordination even if the conjonctions "et" and "ou" aren't expressed. The same rules are applied here. ex:" Son frere, sa soeur, son mari etaient la" (plural verb with several singular subjects) " Un rappel, une simple mise au point suffirait a leur rafraichir la memoire" (we can consider "rappel" and "mise au point" pointing out the same reality).
