This is a plan for propaedeutic lessons teaching the student the Arabic alphabet and its pronunciation (including letter combinations like laam-alif etc.). The goal is to introduce letters one by one so as not to overwhelm the student. In order to raise his confidence and provide feelings of success, words used for illustration and exercises shall mostly be understandable without any knowledge of Arabic: Arabic words that come from English (e. g. sandwich), Arabic words used in other languages (e. g. algebra?), common personal names (e. g. Ahmed) and names of countries or places whose name is not very different in Arabic (e. g. Iran, Hanoi).

For now, it will just be a list of words that could be used, but eventually it shall turn into an order for letters to be introduced like Modern Greek/Writing lessons plan and then into actual step-by-step lessons like the writing lessons at Modern Greek.

Please post any words that could be used here, preferably with vowel indications. Also transliterate or give the English equivalent.
