Yi is also often pronounced as "yao" when dealing with phone numbers, addressess, and the like.  It is never used when dealing with currency.  For example, 135..... as the start of a phone number would be pronounced "yao san wu....".  Room 1201 would often be pronounced as "yao er ling yao" etc...
