Past Tense There are two past tenses in Turkish. The first one is used when you saw the action and is called the "seen" past tense, second one is used when you transfer some information, and called the "heard" past tense.

Seen Past Tense The suffixes -dı,-di,-du,-dü and the personal ending are added to the verb stem:

gelmek(coming soon...)
gel-di-m (I came)
gel-di-n (you came)
gel-di (he/she/it came)
gel-di-k (we came)
gel-di-niz (you came)
gel-di-ler (they came)

anlamak (to understand), anladım(I understood), anladın (you understood), etc. bulmak (to find): buldum (I found), buldun (you found), etc. vermek (to give): verdim, verdin, etc. gitmek (to go): gittim, gittin, etc. göndermek (to send): gönderdim, gönderdin, etc. söz vermek (to promise): söz verdim, söz verdin, etc.
