Study German?

I'm wondering should I start studying German again or not.
Actually, I studied it for about one and half year since my major is English and German and English have a same origin as a language.
But program is that my English is no perfect, or far from it lol
Can I study both language together?
Generally, English is much helpful for me in Japan.
I don't say studying German is fun, but I don't wanna study small grammar.
Any suggestion?

    I'm not sure, if German is such an important language. Yes, its helps you learn other indo-germanic languages like Dutch, Danish... but if you want to learn more languages, maybe it is better to choose a Romance language like French, Spanish, Italian oder Portuguese.

    actually I studied German for one and half year coz German and English have same origin as a language, and my major is English. For me, remembering gender is so PAINFUL, but my professor said that we don't care coz even if gender is not correct, we can communicate with each other. Now, I wanna learn one more language except English. I also studied Chinese but it's too difficult. Spanish is attractive for me coz Japanese and Spanish have similar vowels, it means that for Japanese people, pronunciation is not so difficult. But I already studied German for one year lol I can't decide, hahah
